Photo shy family at Easter Sunday smorgasbord

It was great having the family together along with Jessica, Clayton's girlfriend.  They really are a good looking bunch, you will have to take my word for it.

Clayton's indoor soccer - walking back after a goal

Clayton has been playing indoor soccer and Saturday night was the finals.  They won the first game something like 16-2 and were scoring amazing goals.  Unfortunately, they had no substitutions, so when playing the final game (with only a 15 minute rest), they lost in the final 9-7.  They were up 6-1 at one point in the game, but the tired legs finally gave out.  It is highly entertaining and fast.

Good Friday with Murray and Helen

After a Good Friday service at our local rec center (a bunch of Victoria Christian churches came together for a service - which was awesome), we met up with Murray, Helen, their son Kevin and his wife Nikki for lunch at the Flying Otter Grill.  Afterwards we wandered around the inner harbour and the parliament buildings.  The wedding they were attending was at 3 pm, so the visit was short but very enjoyable.

Our good friends Murray and Helen drove to the coast for a wedding in Victoria on Good Friday.

Blossoms

It has been unseasonably cold here in Victoria, but it does not stop spring from coming.  The magnolia trees on the boulevard are already dropping their blossoms and so are the ornamental cherry trees shown here.  Still, I cannot wait for the warm weather to arrive.

Mom's birthday isn't till the end of the month, but we had a little early celebration tonight.  The cake was delicious.

Ed came to the island for a few days. It was great having you visit with us Ed!! We went out for dinner with cousin Mike & Simmi and Ed managed to fit in a lunch with cousin Colin on Thursday.

Congratulations Melanie and Jim!!

Our niece Melanie was married on Saturday in Langley.  She is the daughter of Fred (Debra's brother) and Nancy (my sister).  It was a very nice wedding and reception.  Family flew in from Ontario and Alberta for the occasion.
