Cotton was bitten by a raccoon and required medical attention. She was very unsettled sitting around the waiting room, but when she was with the vet, she was good as gold.
She needed these 'drain pipes' put in to help drain the wound. She will be walking around the house like this for 3-5 days and then back to the vet to take them out.
Debra regularly puts inspirational quotes up on the blackboard in the kitchen. She will occasionally ask for contributions from the kids. This beauty is from Clayton.
Clayton and I went to the Jackson Cup Final at Royal Athletic Park. The Jackson Cup is contested by all of the Division 1 and Division 2 teams on Vancouver Island. Gorge FC Div 1 has held the cup for 5 years running and on Sunday added their 6th in a row with a convincing 4-1 win over Cowichan Div 1.
One of Clayton's best buddies Quinn came on as a late substitute and scored a nice goal. Well done Quinn.
Beautiful Spring day!
We spent the morning at the church doing Spring clean up. Painting, pruning and general garden maintenance. It was hard work but a lot of fun.
Debra and I took a walk around the Inner Harbour on Sunday. Not too many people out and about. Perhaps it was less to do with the cool weather than just the time of the year. Still, it is Spring Break and we thought it might be busier.
Garage sale at Christ Church Cathedral School. This is a sure sign of spring and it was a beautiful sunny day although still a bit cool. Debra and I got out early and had a cinnamon bun for breakfast at Bubby Rose's Bakery in Cook Street Village. After wandering the shops for a while, we had an early lunch of croquets at The Dutch Bakery on Fort Street. Nice morning.
Spring has all of a sudden abandoned us. It was snowing at the higher elevations around 7 am this morning and on the Malahat it created whiteout conditions. We only had snow mixed with rain in the Gorge.

If you look closely, you can see the snow. Seriously, it was plus 14 on Saturday and only 3 degree's right now.
Always love how this path looks just after weed eating. We heard lawnmowers throughout the day, many people taking advantage of the sunshine. The weatherman predicts rain for the whole week. Great for the garden!
