There is a contest at Clayton's school that you can win a roast if you can guess the weight. Since our hands are about the same size, I took a few photo's and put the weight of the roast and then emailed them to Clayton. We will see if it helped. :)

A great new Imax film coming out on May 1st. As seasons pass holders, we had advanced screening with the executive producer who lives on Salt Spring Island.

More great music tonight

Tonight at Victoria Christian Reformed Church the Greater Victoria Police Chorus will be performing with the Pacific Christian School Chamber Choir as a fundraiser for next years Mission Mexico trip. Should be great.

Fantastic weekend of Jazz

Titan Hot Seven

Wow! Just a great weekend of jazz music. Yesterday (Sunday) we took in the Gospel Jazz performance from the Climax Jazz Band and then yet another set of our favourite band, the Titan Hot Seven.

Trista was able to attend both on Saturday and Sunday and is now officially hooked on live jazz. (she added to her music collection over the weekend)
Rueben also came along on Saturday and took in a couple of performances at the Pianorama and a set of Titan Hot Seven.
Too many highlights to list. If you get the chance to go to a jazz festival........take it, you won't be disappointed.

Friends Don and Sandy gave Debra and I weekend passes to the Jazz event of the year in Victoria. We have been going to the Jazz festivals for over 10 years.

Neat pictures to end the Easter weekend

Our Magnolia's are coming into bloom quite nicely.

The rain and wind started after lunch making for a fairly miserable afternoon weatherwise.

Saturday at Deep Bay

A great view of Chrome Island off the southern tip of Denman Island. Dad R has been topping and taking down loads of Maple and Fir trees to keep the views open from the house and patio. Within a couple of years, they will be all grown back.

We had a great visit with Mom & Dad , John & Jenny (Debra's sister) and their son Matthew & Mandy and son Carson. We had a wonderful Easter meal on Friday which included delicious Rouladin.

Proud rooster. Mom and Dad get fresh eggs everyday.

Debra and I also visited her brother Ron & Corrine and kids, and went for dinner with her sister Linda & Mark. It was great seeing everyone again, if just for a brief few hours visit.

Good Friday drive up Island

After church and a quick bite to eat we headed up to Mom & Dad R's in Deep Bay, stopping off at our favourite java hut "Black Coffee" at Whippletree Junction for a double long shot espresso with a splash of hot water.

From the UK to Canada in 8 months
