Sunday afternoon in Victoria

Victoria Dragon Boat Festival

And the winner is..........Number 4 (or is it Number 2?)

One of the Inner Harbour attractions - Undersea Gardens.
We had season passes for years when the kids were little.

Inner Harbour and the Empress Hotel

Parliament Buildings - Architect Frank Rattenbury

Dragon Boat teams after their race

Mutual encouragement is a given for all paddlers.
Many teams are comprised of cancer survivors.

Bells in front of the Royal BC Museum across from the inner harbour.

Titanic Artifact Exhibition - Royal BC Museum

When you enter the Titanic Artifact Exhibition, you are given a boarding pass.
As you exit, you check your name on a wall that lists all the survivors and those that perished.
Debra's passenger lived, mine lost his life.

The horse and buggy slow down traffic a bit, but add to the overall charm of the city

The Gate of Harmonious Interest -entrance to Chinatown

After a very rainy morning, the skies cleared for a nice afternoon with bright sunshine.
This was a good thing as the Dragon Boat Festival was in full swing. Not only does that add to the atmosphere (good weather), but it brings out the tourists in droves when the weather is clear. Debra and I went down to watch some races and take in the Titanic Artifact Exhibition at the Royal BC Museum. Afterwards, we walked a bit of Government Street and picked up some tea at Silk Road in Chinatown.
