Monster Truck Spectacular - Father's Day

Father's day was fun. It started at 6:30 am when I met up with my friend Gord to go for a bike ride and grab some breakfast in Cowichan Bay. We arrived in Cowichan Bay at 7:15 to discover the restaurant did not open until 8 am. We continued on to a favorite spot of Debra and I, 'Black's Coffee Shop' (I think) in Whippletree Junction. After a delicious Cinnamon bun and Americano, we figured we could take back roads and ride through the Shawnigan Lake area to head home. Blacktop turned into gravel (4.7 km of gravel!!! - one way). With optimism, we figured it had to lead somewhere......it did. A dead end. However, we now know where the Kinsol Trestle is. (rode our bikes along the walking trail to get there).
Doubling back (my kingdom for a dual bike) we arrived in Victoria shortly after 10 am.
In the afternoon I took Rueben and Clayton to the "Monster Truck Spectacular" monster truck and freestyle bike show at the Save On Foods Memorial Centre. It was loud and fun. The pictures say most if not all of what we saw.
The weather could be warmer, and the wind could quiet down, but all in all a nice Father's Day.
