Live from Olympic Closing Ceremonies Vancouver

A friend of ours took this picture and emailed it to us while we were watching the ceremonies from home.

Oven roasted garlic cloves

Debra makes these a dozen at a time and uses them in everything from spaghetti sauce, scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes, anything that tastes good with garlic. One of our favorites is to mash them with a little olive oil and spread on flatbread, sprinkle with a little parmesan cheese, in the oven till browned slightly. Oh my, it is so delicious!

We had a great afternoon at M&D R's celebrating the birthdays and watching a bit of the Olympics.

Live from Whistler - Olympic Ladies Super-G

53 skiers at Whistler Creekside for the Ladies Super-G. You can see the size of the crowd in the photos. There were heaps of Americans hoping to see Lindsay Vonn win another Gold medal. Didn't happen. Lots of wipeouts and DNF's. The racing started at 10 am and wound up about 1 hour and 40 minutes later. By that time, it was at least 9 degree's on a beautiful sunny Saturday.
