Room with a view(s)!

A grey, dull, rainy Wednesday morning turned to a sunny Thursday morning. What a view! We stayed two nights at the Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside. We used priceline.com where you can bid for what you would like to pay. The regular room rate is $269 per night and we stayed two nights for $237 taxes in.

Spanish Banks - Vancouver

We drove SW Marine drive coming from the ferries into downtown Vancouver. It goes through some of the most expensive properties in Vancouver and passes through UBC before heading down along the waterfront. Spanish Banks beaches are packed in the summer time.

Labour Day Walk

We went for a nice long walk along the Gorge Waterway. This Strawberry Tree (Arbutus) is growing out of the stone wall. It can grow up to 25 metres tall... this might become a problem.

Sunday Government Street Market

This block of Government Street is blocked off every Sunday till 4pm for a street market. We were there to pick up some loose leaf tea from Silk Road. It was windy and raining so there were not many vendors or shoppers.

We don't know what kind of instrument this was (an Erhu - thanks Ellie) but this guy was playing 'Amazing Grace' and it sounded beautiful.

Montmarte - Paris (webcam photo from today)

Reminiscing about this amazing place we went to in Paris last summer. It was a bit nervy getting there (some area's around it are a bit dodgy) but well worth the visit. The view is over all of Paris from up on the hill.

Karma up the tree (again)

Karma races around the back yard and goes up and down the tree's. She used to love the Robinia tree that we took down in the spring. She also loves to chase Cotton around the yard. It is hilarious watching the two of them. Karma adds a lot of joy to the household.
