A lot of people had a nice red glow on their skin at the end. It was a lot of fun and I hit a few nice shots, enough to make me want to play more often.

In Vancouver for the week

Views from my hotel room on the 31st (top) floor of the Westin Grand on Robson Street. The BC Place Stadium roof is scheduled to be replaced during 2010 with a retractable roof.

This the the Vancouver Library building. We are in Vancouver to play a golf tourney tomorrow, Wednesday at another BC Hydro session and then off to Chilliwack to run our system for a couple of days.

Victoria Day

Down by Ogden Point breakwater. Debra and I went for a coffee at the little cafe. After walking around the pier for a bit, we did a little shopping. It has drizzled on and off for most of the morning.

The cruise ship season is well under way.

This was in the morning, so who knows how many will be docked later tonight.

We have a Season Pass to the IMAX Victoria and have taken in all of the shows to date. This one was very, very good.

Surviving the Tour de France portrays the tremendous challenge of the Tour de France. You will feel the incredible speed and skill of the cyclists as they veer at 100kms per hour down hairpin turns in the Pyrenees and power up steep inclines in the Alps, as they are caught up in hair raising crashes and dramatic battles. And you’ll likely wonder "how do they do this?" and "why do they do this?" You’ll learn that the answers lie within the mind and the human brain itself.

Prior to the IMAX, we watched a few of the bands that would be participating in the Victoria Day parade on Monday.

Lots of marching bands from the USA. They are very talented.

LIVE! from Prince George

The "Mighty Fraser" is swelling its banks this spring.

I am in Prince George today visiting with our project partners. Lots of work to do for the BC Hydro Bioenergy Call with the Fuel Plan requirements. The Fraser river is fast flowing with the warm weather (25 degrees right now). The unusually cold spring has not melted the winter snowpack slowly enough, so this might causing flooding if the warm weather continues. Alas, it is not in the forecast past Saturday or Sunday.

Life is not just motorcycle rides around one of Canada's prettiest cities.

Highest gas price in Canada - Yay!

When the price goes up in Victoria, you have a few hours before EVERY station is at the exact same price. You cannot "shop around" for the cheapest gas, as there certainly is collusion in the Victoria area.

This hurts!

We are still far better off than places in Europe, but when you consider that Canada is a net exporter of oil, it just doesn't seem right.
