New Years Eve

On the ferry (Dec 30th) over to our house in Victoria for
New Years eve. Nice hair lads!

Playing what is called Sjoelen. (Explanation below)
In our house, if you get a score 80 or over, your name gets written on the back.
The Sjoelbak "Hall of Fame".

The game's name is 'sjoelen'. 'Sjoelen' is also a verb describing the activity of playing 'sjoelen'. 'Sjoelbak' is the name of largest game component. You slide the 'sjoelschijven' (discs) over the 'sjoelbak'.

Trip to Whistler to visit with Paul, Anne & Alex

Early morning sky

Nice morning sky. There is tons of snow on the mountains (Mt.Washington and Whistler / Blackcomb). The malls are busy with the Christmas rush, and both school and work are coming to an end on Friday for the Christmas break.
Here in Victoria we had a great wind storm (again) and lots of rain in the forecast.

We are threatened with 10 cm or more overnight

And then back to rain and a high of 13 degree's on Monday
